MARCH 29, 2016

PRAYER FAMILIES In our prayers this week, we remember the following school families: Betsy & Darin Frerichs, Jason & Joni Folkerts, and Tara Fadipe & Richie Osienger.

CHAPEL OFFERINGS Our Chapel offerings during the month of March will go to pay for the St. Paul’s radio broadcast over KWBE which will be sponsored by the students in honor of National Lutheran Schools Week. Our total so far is $72.75. The Radio Broadcast costs $104.

4TH GRADE The 4th Grade students will play their recorders at Chapel tomorrow, Wednesday, March 30th. Parents are welcome to worship with us on that day as well as any Wednesday morning.

PARENT SURVEY This year the annual Parent Survey is found online at Survey Monkey. The link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2JV7SXB. You can also find the link on the school website, and it was e-mailed to each family. You may notice that there is a duplicate question for teachers, this allows you to complete that information for each of your children. If you have only one student, just skip the extra teacher questions. Please complete the survey by this Friday, April 1st.

SPRING MAP TESTING The students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade will be taking MAP Tests April 4th– April 15th. Please be sure your children are well rested and have had a good breakfast each day so they will be able to do their best on the tests.

1ST GRADE The 1st Grade students will visit the Beatrice Hospital next week, Thursday, April 7th.

SPELLING BEE The annual St. Paul Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 pm. The event will involve students from St. Paul’s school in grades 1-5. Any and all St. Paul students in these grades who wish to participate may do so.

SINGING IN CHURCH- UPDATE We did not have enough children sign up to sing at the concert on April 10th, so unfortunately, we will not be performing with the choir that day.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS Outdoor Classroom Workdays are scheduled for Saturday, April 16th and Saturday, May 7th beginning at 9:00 am. The 16th, we will dig up, mulch and prepare the beds for the butterfly garden, and put sand in the long jump pit and the digging area. On the 7th, we will plant the butterfly gardens, and some new trees.

SNEAKER RECYCLING The St. Paul’s Youth Group is gathering gently used sneakers and tennis shoes for a fundraiser to support their trip to the National Youth Gathering this summer. If you have any good used tennis shoes, please place them in the box by the front door at school.

2016-2017 APPLICATIONS We are in the process of accepting applications for new students in Pre-School, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten through Grade 5 for the next school year (2016-2017). If you know of anyone interested in enrolling in St. Paul’s School, please give their name to the school office or ask them to contact the school.

SCHOOL SECRETARY Vanessa Smith, our school secretary, is expecting her second child this October. She has decided to stay home with her children beginning this fall.
