Iris Hintz – Teacher’s Aid
I was born in Fairbury, NE on June 7, 1953 and grew up on a farm with my parents, Orville and Claudine Schmidt, along with my older brother Darrel, and my younger sister Karen. We went to a small 2 room country grade school, Friendensau and graduated from Deshler High School. For one year I attended Concordia Teachers College in Seward. In May of 1973 I married my husband Harlan Hintz. We have two children, Catrina Schaefer who lives here in Beatrice, and Casper Hintz who presently lives in Colorado. We are blessed with one granddaughter Rayna Schaefer. Over the years I’ve had a variety of different jobs (kitchen helper, clothing store clerk, Frozen and Dairy Food Manager, Nursery Aide at BCH, etc. etc. etc.) But the most rewarding is being a Teacher’s Assistant at St. Paul Lutheran School which I started in 1997. I enjoy boating, cross stitching, and gardening.
